A wall doesn't cancel on you, doesn't need to schedule around work, and never gets tired of feeding you the same shot over and over until you get it right. Solo wall drills won't replace real match play, but they'll sharpen your reflexes and consistency faster than waiting around for a partner ever will.
Still one of the most misunderstood rules in the game — you can stand in the kitchen all day, just not volley the ball while any part of you is touching it or the line. Momentum counts too, so even stepping in right after your volley can call a fault on you. Learn this one properly and you'll stop losing points to something so avoidable. Anyone ever got called on this one mid-game?
